Contest Rules

The Finalists for the 2017 North Carolina Doctor of the Year Award will be posted for public voting on March 20th – March 29th in the online gallery at ncdoctorsday.org. The finalist receiving the most votes will be selected as the winner. Finalists and/or their family, friends, patients and colleagues are urged to rally support for their favorite finalist. We encourage you to use social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook to spread the word about your chosen finalist as well as NC Doctors’ Day.

By participating in the voting portion of the award, each voting participant agrees to be bound by the official contest rules. Voting is limited to one vote per person, per device. Uniqueness of votes is determined using a combination of data, including the visitor’s IP address, User-Agent, request time and other information from the HTTP request.

If a finalist receives multiple and/or irregular votes, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source, the North Carolina Medical Society reserves the right to disqualify the Finalist in its sole discretion.

This contest uses an internet tool for the voting mechanism, and if the internet voting process fails to operate properly or appears to be tampered with or tainted with errors, fraud or unfair practices, the NCMS reserves the right to use another means to determine the winner, i.e. random selection or appointing a panel of judges. All decisions of the judges are final.
